Equine Facilitated Life Coaching

Horses naturally live in a state of emotional balance and harmony. This makes them wonderful helpers on your path to deeper personal awareness and authenticity. At Sonata Ranch we help you co-create a harmonious, balanced life through a series of coach-facilitated exercises with horses. Ready to learn more about yourself with help from these intuitive creatures? Our equine “coaches” are waiting to meet you!

Patient teachers. Powerful listeners. Emotional mirrors.

FAQ

  • On an initial phone meeting, we talk about what’s going on in your life now and discuss your goals moving forward. Then we make a custom plan just for you comprised of either traditional life coaching, equine facilitated coaching or a combination of both. Click here to start the conversation.

  • No! All the exercises with horses are “on the ground” only. This means you will be interacting with them standing nearby or perhaps even touching them (if you feel comfortable) but not on their backs.

  • Yes! The exercises are very gentle and move from observation at a distance to more interaction in later phases. You work within your own comfort zone the entire way. How much or how little direct contact with the horse is entirely up to you.

  • Each person has a unique experience. Generally, you can expect to better notice your own emotions and be aware of how they translate to physical sensations in your body. You can also expect to learn to speak a little “horse” as you become familiar with the non-verbal language of equines. You may discover hidden aspects of yourself that enable you to be in relationship differently, both with yourself and others.

  • Horses provide the perfect partners with which to practice self-awareness. They act as mirrors in their responses to show when you are in alignment with your thoughts, feelings, and actions and when you aren’t. Because horses live only in the current moment (and not in the past or future) they teach us how to be fully present. This has great application for relationships with others, whether it be family, friends or work colleagues.

There is plenty of parking, places to sit and relax, and large shade trees. It’s close to the city but you will feel miles away from urban stress.

All the ponies

Our Sonata Ranch herd is full of solid, professionally trained horses, each with their own personality and story. As you “choose” your equine partner for coaching, you may find a surprisingly powerful connection.

Meet your human coach

Jennifer Linn, Sonata Ranch founder and owner, is a trained equine-facilitated life coach who is dedicated to helping people through the wonder and power of horses. Jennifer has an extensive background in corporate branding and graphic design and also spent a decade in marketing communications for nonprofits and Christian ministries. After going through an unexpected divorce in 2013, her horses were a key component in the healing process. Realizing what a powerful role these animals play in rediscovering the authentic self, she decided to focus her efforts on helping people through equine coaching. It’s her mission to walk alongside clients as they rediscover themselves and craft a harmonious new life through horse wisdom.
